THE COMMUNION OF REPARATION OF THE FIRST FIVE SATURDAYS.

In the secret of the apparition of July, Our Lady had said: - “I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation of the First Saturdays.”

The message of Fatima was not, therefore, definitively concluded with the cycle of the apparitions of Cova da Iria in 1917.
On December 10, 1925, the Blessed Virgin, having the Child Jesus at Her side on a luminous cloud, appeared to Sr. Lucia in her cell, in the House of the Dorotheas, in Pontevedra. Putting one of Her hands on her shoulder, She showed her a heart surrounded by thorns, which She held in Her other hand. The Child Jesus, pointing to it, exhorted the seer with the following words: “Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, which is surrounded by the thorns that ungrateful men constantly pierce it, without anyone making an act of reparation to remove them”.
The Blessed Virgin added: “See, my daughter, my Heart surrounded by thorns that ungrateful men, at every moment, pierce me with blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, do something to console me and say that to all those who for five months, on the first Saturday, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary and accompany Me for fifteen minutes meditating on its mysteries in order to make amends to Me, I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for their salvation” (Cf. The Future of Spain..., p. 157; Ayres da Fonseca, pp. 350 and 351; Walsh, p. 255; De Marchi, English ed. pp. 152 and 153; Fazenda, pp. X and XI).
On February 15, 1926, the Child Jesus appeared again to Sister Lucia in Pontevedra, asking her if she had already spread the devotion to His Most Holy Mother. The seer told Him of the difficulties presented by her confessor, and explained that the superior was willing to spread it, but that the priest had said that the mother could do nothing on her own. Jesus answered: “It is true that your superior alone can do nothing, but with my grace she can do everything”.

Sister Lucia then explained the difficulty that some people had in going to confession on Saturday, and asked that the confession be valid for eight days, Jesus answered: “Yes, it can be, and even for many more days, as long as, when they receive Me, they are in a state of grace and have the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Sister Lucy also asked: “My Jesus, what about those who forget to make this intention? To which Jesus replied: - “They can put it in the next confession, taking advantage of the first occasion they have to go to confession” (Cf. The Future of Spain..., pp. 157 and 158; Fazenda, pp. XI and XII; Ayres da Fonseca, p. 351; De Marchi, English ed., p. 153).
On the vigil of May 29-30, 1930, Our Lord, speaking interiorly to Sister Lucia, also resolved another difficulty: - “It will be equally acceptable to practice this devotion on the Sunday following the first Saturday, when my priests, for just reasons, so determine” (Cf. The Future of Spain..., p. 162).

[Our Lady had also said of this devotion: “To those who embrace it, I promise salvation. These souls will be beloved of God, like flowers placed by to furhish His throne”.]

LA COMUNIÓN REPARADORA DE LOS CINCO PRIMEROS SÁBADOS.

En el secreto de la aparición de julio, Nuestra Señora había dicho: -“Vendré a pedir la consagración de Rusia a mi Inmaculado Corazón y la comunión reparadora de los primeros sábados.”
El mensaje de Fátima no estaba, pues, definitivamente concluido con el ciclo de la apariciones de Cova da Iría en 1917.
El día 10 de diciembre de 1925, la Santísima Virgen, teniendo a su lado al Niño Jesús sobre una nube luminosa, se le apareció a la Hna. Lucía en su celda, en la Casa de las Doroteas, en Pontevedra. Poniéndole una de las manos en el hombro, le mostró un corazón rodeado de espinas, que tenía en la otra mano. El Niño Jesús, señalándolo, exhortó a la vidente con las siguientes palabras: “Ten pena del Corazón de tu Santísima Madre, que está rodeado con las espinas que los hombres ingratos constantemente le clavan, sin haber quien haga un acto de reparación para quitárselas”.
La Santísima Virgen añadió: “Mira, hija mía, mi Corazón rodeado de espinas que los hombres ingratos, en cada momento, me clavan con blasfemias e ingratitudes. Tú, al menos, haz algo por consolarme y dí que a todos aquellos que durante cinco meses, en el primer sábado, se confiesen, reciban la sagrada Comunión, recen el Rosario y me acompañen quince minutos meditando sus misterios con el fin de desagraviarme, yo prometo asistirles en la hora de la muerte con todas las gracias necesarias para su salvación” (Cf. El día 15 de febrero de 1926, el Niño Jesús vuelve a aparecerse a la Hna. Lucía, en Pontevedra, preguntándole si ya había divulgado la devoción a Su Santísima Madre. La vidente le cuenta las dificultades presentadas por su confesor, y le explica que la superiora estaba dispuesta a propagarla, pero que aquel sacerdote había dicho que la madre nada podía por sí sola. Jesús respondió: -“Es verdad que tu superiora sola nada puede, pero con mi gracia lo puede todo”.
La Hna. Lucía expuso, entonces, la dificultad que tenían algunas personas de confesarse el sábado, y pidió que fuese válida la confesión dentro de los ocho días, Jesús respondió: -“Sí, puede ser, y hasta de muchos más días, con tal que, cuando me reciban, estén en gracia y tengan la intención de desagraviar al Inmaculado Corazón de María”. La Hna. Lucía preguntó también: -“Jesús mío, ¿y los que se olviden de poner esta intención?”. A lo que Jesús respondió: -“Pueden ponerla en la confesión siguiente, aprovechando la primera ocasión que tengan para confesarse” (Cf. El Futuro de España…, págs. 157 y 158; Fazenda, págs. XI y XII; Ayres da Fonseca, pág. 351; De Marchi, ed. en inglés, pág. 153).
En la vigilia del 29 al 30 de mayo de 1930, Nuestro Señor, hablando interiormente a la Hna. Lucía, resolvió también otra dificultad: -“Será igualmente aceptable la práctica de esta devoción el domingo siguiente al primer sábado, cuando mis sacerdotes, por justos motivos, así lo determinen” (Cf. El Futuro de España…, pág. 162).
[también Ntra. Sra. había dicho de esa devoción: "A los que la abracen Yo les prometo la salvación. Estas almas serán bienamadas de Dios, como flores colocadas por mí para adornar Su trono".]
