142. The future of some Salesians, 1885

Other warnings from Heaven.
On the night of December 1, 1885, the seminarian Viglietti woke up frightened when he heard screams coming from Don Bosco's room. He ran there and found the Saint saying: - Woe is me! Oh, woe is me! Help! Help! Viglietti asked him: “Don Bosco, are you feeling sick? And he, waking up, answered: - I was almost drowned by things that I was dreaming and that made me tired.
And the next day, while he was having breakfast, he told what was the cause of his cries: - For four nights I have seen in dreams a long line of Salesians each carrying a sign with a number on it. On one it read 70, on another 62, on another 30, and each Salesian went and sat on a tomb. And there I could see many details about the date and place and circumstances of the death of each one. I would scream in fear and those screams would leave my lungs shattered.
Note: Many years after the death of the Saint, a Salesian wrote a book entitled: “Every day with Don Bosco”, and there he points out more than 40 cases of Salesians whom Don Bosco gave mysterious data about the time and manner of their death.
Comparing the data of their Mortuary Letters with what they had told in life that Don Bosco had announced to them, one finds a marvelous precision. It is that their dreams were true announcements of the future.

143. Beasts in sheep's clothing, 1885

On December 1 I saw in a dream a large flock of lambs and sheep representing many who worked in our community. I approached to greet them, but I realized that the sheepskin was a kind of cover or disguise that hid tigers, lions, rabid dogs, pigs, panthers and bears, and that each one had a hellish monster next to him.
A group of those infernal monsters was plotting a plan against our Congregation and they were saying: - The Salesians must be finished, they must be exterminated! At that moment they saw me nearby and threw themselves against me to destroy me. I shouted for help and then the secretary, Father Viglietti, came into my room and found me sitting on the bed, very distressed and very tired.
Above that group of people disguised as lambs I saw a sign that said: “They have become like beasts”.
(And as he said these last words, the Saint bowed his head and wept). His secretary Father [Father or seminarian?] Viglietti said to him: “Beloved Father, we will always be faithful to you. We will not be wild beasts disguised as lambs.
Don Bosco added: - In these dreams I also saw that two of our people will not celebrate Christmas on this earth this year. (And indeed, in that December Antonio Guarino and Esteban Pisano died there in the Salesian house).
- Ah, if I could go to the Salesian houses and say to those who are in sin: Why not go to confession? Why not make peace with God? Why not obtain forgiveness from Our Lord? Ah, if only I could go to each one and say to him: Break that ice you have with God! Settle the accounts of your soul! In this dream I also saw many who will become religious, but then withdraw because they love the world more than holiness. And I saw who do comply with the regulations of our community, and who do not comply with them.
