Lesson 20
SIXTH AND NINTH COMMANDMENTS
Do not fornicate – Do not desire your neighbor's wife

My comments in [ ]

231.- What it is commanded to us in these commandments.- In these two commandments God commands us to be pure and clean in thoughts, desires, words, deeds and looks, that is, to keep the virtue of chastity, each person according to his state [single, married, religious ...], both in the interior and outer.
In this positive aspect, these two commandments compel us to respect our body, temple of the Holy Spirit and abode of the Holy Trinity, according to the teaching of our Divine Redeemer: “Jesus answered, and said to him: If any one loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and will make Our abode with him”. (Saint  John, XIV, 23).

232.- The virtue of chastity.- The virtue of chastity is a disposition of the soul that is manifested by an unwavering will to abstain from all the illicit pleasures of the senses and the flesh, that is, from all thoughts, delectations, desires and actions prohibited by the sixth and ninth commandments.
The word chastity comes from punishment, because the natural rebelliousness of concupiscence is to be confronted and tamed by reason with deprivations, penances, and mortifications.
"The body, which is the inseparable companion of the soul and an instrument for it of salvation or condemnation, must be subject to the upper part of man, that is, to the will; and this one must be subject to God. The body is the abode of the soul, from which the body receives life and for whom it is, how many times! a bad companion, a disloyal servant, a traitor who drags it to death by sin. Its origin is a little of mud kneaded and organized by the Divine Omnipotence that made it a masterpiece. The aimed end of the body is in the glory among the angels of Heaven to whose nature it will somehow resemble when it rises gloriously from the dead" (L. Ramírez)

[Make it clear that the end of the body depends on the state of the soul it shelters.
"For as the Father hath life in Himself, so He hath given the Son also to have life in Himself.  And He hath given Him power to do judgment, because He is the Son of man. Wonder not at this; for the hour cometh, wherein all that are in the graves shall hear the voice of the Son of God. And they that have done good things, shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment." Saint  John 5, 26-29.

"But at that time Michael will arise, the great prince, constituted defender of the children of thy people, and it will be a time of anguish, which there has not been since nations exist until that time. And at that time your people will be saved, every one that shall be found written in the book.  And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake: some unto life everlasting, and others unto reproach, to everlasting ignominy. But they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that have taught justice to many, as stars for all eternity." Daniel 12:1-3
Notice the significant differences between these good version verses and the ones that abound in internet.

"He who is saved knows and he who does not, knows nothing. In this borrowed life, to work to do well is the key, he who is saved, knows, the other knows nothing." These sentences must have been formulated in this way in very ancient times, since we find them in the folklore of Spain and all Latin American countries with slight variations".

And Jesus Christ teaches us that we must first work (fulfill) and then teach. Everything, even the considered insignificant commandments. Disobedients have a thousand goofy rules such as: start off on the right foot; touch wood; if you think so: that's the way it will be; anything is valid in love and war; everything and everybody belong to them because they inherited all... But we have to obey Our Lady of the Roses to follow the true rules. Examine the messages www.tldm.org publishes, try to find the authentic ones.

"Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven”. Saint Matthew 5: 17-20]

233.- Practical advice.- The unwary and lacking in managerial criteria, finds a stumbling stone, of scandal and of sin, even in the good things; it all depends on the point of view in which he places himself to observe them. The sensitivity of the subject in this lesson and in the next one leads us to advise you, dear young man, that while you study them or read them for your right direction, keep your mind set in Heaven, where there is no place for insane imaginations or anything rotten. Remain with the spirit very high among the angels and be like one of them.

234.- Division of chastity.- Chastity can be perfect or imperfect. The first excludes all carnal pleasures. The second moderates them, and excludes only the illicit ones.
Perfect chastity is spiritual and bodily virginity, that is, the voluntary and firm abstention from all acts and carnal delight, accompanied by the purpose of never sullying oneself with any contrary act.
Imperfect chastity can take place between spouses and in widowerhood/widowhood. The first is that of married persons; the second is that of widows/widowers.
Chastity is purity when some minor acts that could lead to, or accompany dishonest sins are moderated.
God Himself, as a preventive remedy or wall in defense of chastity, imprints in our soul the natural feeling of modesty, to safeguard innocence and help man to curb his carnal appetite. "Modesty is a fortress in which all the virtues are gathered" (A. Lápide). Chastity is prudent and sincere. There is modesty of sight, tongue and hearing and modesty of dress, demeanour and hands. "Sense of decency and modesty are lesser sisters of purity."

235.- Obligation of chastity.- God has imposed on all men the grave obligation –under penalty of condemnation, if there is no repentance and amendment- to keep chastity each according to their state: celibate, married or widowerhood/widowhood. It is of faith, since this is how it is stated in the Holy Scripture: Do not be deceived, nor the fornicarians,... neither the adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor the sodomites..., shall possess the Kingdom of Heaven (read:  I, Corinthians, VI, 9-10).
Chastity is a natural and supernatural duty, for it is necessary in both orders.

236.- Necessity of chastity.- Considered from the merely natural point of view, chastity is necessary to preserve intact the faculties of the soul and to keep the flesh subject to the spirit; and it is no less necessary to safeguard the vigor and health of the body, the honor and well-being of the family, peace, prosperity and good customs in society.

The famous physician Tissot said: "There is no more pestilential disease, which destroys more the natural forces of the body, which weakens virtue more, which shortens human life more, than the sin of lust. Who can count all the misfortunes and sufferings that this vice brings with it? Who can describe them? The houses for mentally ill and hospitals for incurable ones give us some idea of this"

[In a country of Asia, Church taught families to lessen the number of births, from 6 per couple to 2 or 3, with chastity before marriage, fidelity in marriage and method of rhythm, they didn’t need to send their souls to Hell by abortion pills, or any other contraceptive thing. In another country, in Africa, the first lady made a successful campaign to stop AIDS just encouraging chastity before marriage and fidelity in marriage]

In the supernatural order it is necessary to keep chastity according to one's own state in order to preserve the spiritual divine filiation and the right to glory, for with it we remain children of God, members of the mystical Body of Christ and living temples of the Holy Spirit, and heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven. Without chastity all virtue collapses, says St. Jerome.

237.- Its possibility.- Even though it is difficult for human nature, especially after the original fall, it is not to be considered impossible to keep chastity, as the vicious pretend to apologize. Proof of this is that God commands to keep it and God does not command impossible things. The secret is in the aid of God's grace, which is not denied by the Lord to whom asks for it. “My grace is enough for you”, God said to St. Paul, when he asked Him to rid him of the angel of Satan (II, Corinthians, XII, 9). And the Holy Apostle also says: “I can do everything in Him who comforts me”. ( read Filipphians, IV, 13).

Not only you can, but you must be chaste. We owe it to God, to our brother and Lord Jesus, to our Chaste Mother. It is demanded by our dignity as children of God, the respect we owe to others and much more if we want friendship to be holy. We owe it to society which is in need of most pure doses, to regenerate its cadaverous rot that excites the wrath of God.

238.- Practical advice.- Whoever wants a good end must put the means to achieve it, otherwise he would be a daredevil, a presumptuous: he would tempt God. Do you want to keep yourself pure and chaste? Follow the examples of Saint Luis Gonzaga [Saint Aloysius] , lily of purity, died at the age of 23 [during an epidemic, while serving the sick, his mother had consecrated him to the Virgin since his Baptism; the same as the parents of St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque, seer of the Sacred Heart, whose parents consecrated her purity to the Virgin since her Baptism]; of Stanislaus of Kostka or John Berchmans, white lilies, who gave their soul to God at the age of 18 and 22; of  Gabriel of the Sorrowful, almost of our days, that at your age, brandished, threatening, a dagger against the tempter who blantantly incited him to what God forbids; of a 20-year-old contemporary who fought back against a more robust provocateur older than him... If Augustine, swamped in vice, became a great saint and Father of the Church, will you not be able, with the same means, to do what he did?

[With these examples chosen in the line of Saints who died young, it seems that the pure die young and that "do not worry, you will have time to be converted in the future like St. Augustine" but most of THE SAINTS WERE PURE FROM THEIR CHILDHOOD and many, in the midst of tremendous penances all their lives, lived more than 60 years : Saint Peter of  Álcántara (63), Saint Therese of Ávila (who would never have allowed a single point against honor, 67), San Juan Bosco (82), Blessed Sebastián of Aparicio (born 1502- died in 1600) of perfect chastity even in his two marriages and who was then a tremendous penitent Franciscan Friar, and very miraculous) and many more.
And if many other saints were converted after a non-holy life, they observed the PURITY perfectly well after their conversion, that is the queen of virtues.

Wisdom 1:4 "Wisdom will not enter into an ill-disposed soul, nor will it dwell in a body that is instrument of sin."
That is why we must fight and repair what the devil is doing in the world, which attacks good science and good books, turns seminars into a litter of vipers and perverts children with gender ideology. And we must confess frequently fulfilling the purposes of amendment, that, together with pious Communions (with our soul very well prepared) and the devotion to the Blessed Virgin are essential, tells us St. John Bosco.]

Yes, dear young man, if you want, you can. "Everything God wants can be done. And God wants us to be chaste. Don't get troubled. Serenity... reflection... energy... distraction... Serenity, so as not to lose your mind, which in these temptations is usually ran away or hidden. Reflection, to warn yourself that you will not solve anything by tasting the pleasure of a moment. Energy, to do what is better for you. Distraction, leading the spirit to other thoughts, to other ideas, to other fields (Fr. Vilariño). Convince yourself that you can and should be chaste, and with this you have won half the game.

239.- His excellency.- Perfect chastity is an angelic and all heavenly virtue that makes man similar to angels. It is the virtue that brings us closest to God; sublime virtue that captivates His Heart. With it, man rises above the low inclinations of his nature, corrupted as a result of original sin; he is spiritualized and reaches high levels, and God gives him virtue and strength to bear any sacrifice, even that of life, if necessary, as taught to us by Ecclesiastical History with the thousands and thousands of virgins who preferred death than stain.
God loves virginal chastity so much that He has a special predilection for chaste souls. This is why Jesus chose an Immaculate Virgin as Mother, a virgin adoptive father, a virgin precursor; St. John the Evangelist was his favorite disciple because he was virgin. Among the blessed He put the chaste: Blessed are the clean and pure of heart, for they will see God (Saint Matthew, V, 8).
Chastity represents the triumph of spirit over matter (Severus Catherine)
Saints and Doctors are inexhaustible when they speak of the excellence of purity and chaste souls: "Purity is the queen of virtues” (St. Peter Damiano). Purity is the charm of angels, victory against passions, the queen of virtues, possession of all goods, ordering and decorum of the ecclesiastical order... (Saint Cifriano). "Chastity is more than a human perfection" (Saint Cyril of Jerusalem). "It is of divine origin, for God brought it from heaven to earth" (Saint Ambrose, also known as Aurelius Ambrosius).
"Those who lead a pure life are angels in mortal flesh" (Saint Basil). "Chaste souls form a family of angels that Christ has established on earth to have angels to praise him, not only in Heaven, but also on the ground" (St. Jerome). "Pure souls are angels of higher hierarchy, for angels have no combat to sustain; but pure souls retain chastity despite the continuous temptations of the devil" (S. Basil). "O how beautiful is the chaste generation with enlightened virtue: for the memory thereof is immortal: because it is known by with God and by men." (Wisdom, IV, I)
"The beauty that is accompanied with honesty is beauty; and the one that is not, is no more than a good look. The best dowry that women can carry is honesty; because beauty and wealth are worn out by time, or circumstances undone them" (Cervantes)

Even the pagans, in the midst of their abominable aberrations, glimpsed the beauty of chastity. Thus, for example, in Rome, the vestals, priestesses of Vesta, in charge of maintaining the "sacred" fire, were, everywhere, the object of the highest honors. If the emperor found them in the street, he had to give way to them, and his companions had to respectfully humiliate their emblems before them. But, if any of them fell into the sin of impurity, it was a great misfortune for the state. At that time, the death penalty was not enough to repair the fall; it was necessary to offer expiatory sacrifices. Among the ancient Saxons, the maiden or married woman who let herself be carried away by impurity or adultery, was hanged and her body burned; and in the same place of cremation the seducer was also hanged.

240.- Advantages and rewards.- Chastity has, in this life and in the other, invaluable advantages. The continuous efforts that its conservation demands, give it an immense merit before God; that is why a special reward is reserved in Heaven for those who keep it faithfully.

In the present life, "it brings with it an indescribable grace and softness and provides a sweeter pleasure than all the pleasures of the flesh," says St. Isidore. Even if it were nothing more than that happiness and that sweet peace that the soul feels, it would already be a very great advantage; but to this we must add the special lights of Heaven that illustrate the understanding and discover horizons hidden to the vicious.
"Purity, inner beauty, and freedom of the angel produces scholars and teachers; enlightened ones, philosophers and theologians, and in all subjects: educated people" (St. Augustine).
We see this confirmed in the lives of many lay saints, who, without formal education, they had the science of God, and the Holy Spirit spoke through their mouth.

The chaste soul gains such a temper that it easily and simply reaches the heroism of virtue. In many occasions God distinguishes virginal souls with particular revelations as He did with Saint Bridget, Saint Magdalene of Pazzis, Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque, etc. That is why St. Thomas of Villanueva calls them "secretaries of God, since the Lord discovers them His secrets."

[Saint Bridget was married against her will, but she had a good marriage, in one of their pilgrimages to holy places, on the way to Santiago de Compostela, her husband Ulf fell seriously ill, Saint Dionysius appeared to Saint Bridget and promised her that her husband would not die on that occasion. When she became a widow, she rose to holiness.]

"The pure soul now hidden to the eyes of the world will shine one day before the angels on the Sun of eternity" (Holy Priest of Ars).

241.- Means to keep chastity.- There are many means to help to practice chastity and to get away from the opposite vice. Some are natural and others are supernatural. The former are also called negative and the supernatural ones, positive.

Natural means help, but they are not effective on their own. Only those who use supernatural means, with a sincere desire to live clean in soul and body, will be chaste. All of them are contained, in a way, in this counsel of Our Lord:  Watch ye, and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Saint Matthew., XXVI, 41).
The negative means are: avoiding idleness and the occasions of sinning, practicing the mortification of the senses, the vigilance on ourselves and the daily examination of conscience. With them we turn away temptations and flee from the occasions of staining ourselves and offending God.

Positive means strengthen the soul for the struggle and give firmness to the will to repel the temptations that harass us despite the precautions we take. These means are: assiduous and fervent prayer; the frequency of the Sacraments, especially Confession and Communion; the filial devotion to The Blessed Mary, to remember the great truths, in particular the presence of God; and the prompt resistance to the first assaults of temptation, according to the wise counsel of the ascetic experience:
Tackling evil at first do try;
if it comes to root, it is cured late.

[Read the Dream of St. John Bosco: The Handkerchiefs of the Virgin]

In the fight for chastity, two opposing pitfalls must be avoided:

1º The presumption that drives us to trust in our own forces and to neglect prayer, the reception of the Sacraments and other means to prevent falls.
2º The discouragement that; as a result of internal disturbances, falls and difficulties that never cease; would incite us to abandon the fight.

242.- Negative means.-
a) Avoid idleness. St. Bernard says that "the spirit of the idle is a path through which all the impure demons walk and that their heart is a pond where the most repugnant reptiles swarm."
On the contrary, work, both intellectual and manual, is a good preserve against impure thoughts and dispels them when they arise. The love to work is an excellent advocate for chastity, especially in youth.

[St. John Bosco says that as long as someone is busy studying or working hard, the devil does not come close. Remember that his students also attended Mass, and received catechesis, daily.  Meditation in God, His Word, and the reading of the Bible daily, and prayer and working for the Kingdom of Heaven are necessary, if not,  at the very least long weekend we have, there is time for “mice” to invade the brain. And another danger is having a seemingly dignified but empty life, becoming a workaholic who doesn't know how to prioritize the soul.]

(b) To flee from occasions of sinning, such as dangerous persons or friendships; indecent shows: theatres, dances, etc.; bad readings, avoid fixing the gaze on paintings, sculptures and indecent engravings; all of which incites lust.

[And now TV entered into the houses, and the camera guides the spectator’s eyes indecently and TV increases the moment with music according to it, or worse: telepathy that transmits emotional or physical sensations of the worst ilk. When TV came in, the bad examples of modernism and moral grime came in, people stopped going to Mass, they became murderers of their children's souls (by scandal) and then... murder everywhere: abortion... that brought “gender violence” (look at the statistics and you'll realize that gender violence started to be a plague after abortion became widespread in every country, legal or not). In Uruguay, “gender homicides” increased exponentially after abortion was approved. In Argentina, abortion was made unconstitutionally legal in December 2020, and in the province of Cordoba in that country, in January-February 2021, the number of “gender” homicides were the half of all 2020 “gender homicides” (which was a “hard covid” year). A few years ago I spoke to a retired police officer and he told me that in his years of service only once he came across a case of gender-based violence. I had also read that in Spain, after homosexuality was approved, attacks to women increased, even from their sons. Our Lady of la Salette said that sins are the cause of all evils that occur on Earth. Examine the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses about TV.]

c) Mortify the senses: above all: the sight, because the eyes are the windows through which death enters the soul, as happened to King David. Evil thoughts and impure desires enter through the eyes. All it takes only one look to disturb a quiet heart, and a reading to upset a serene imagination.

We mortify the ear and tongue by not listening or allowing ourselves dishonest words, songs or jokes; we mortify the sense of touch not consenting to the hands touching any that departs from the most correct Christian reservation, and the taste, by avoiding immoderateness in the food, and even more in the drink, which is what mainly leads to committing dishonesties.

[Beware of the songs of the world.
Saint Matthew 12:36 "But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day”.
Besides, evil ones are all the time examining what we say trying to find a way to harm us, depending on our words, etc.]

d) Vigilance over oneself: mind and heart.- We must watch over not only the senses, but also the mind and heart.
We must remove from the mind, without disturbance, but also without negligence, any impure imagination or thought as soon as they arise. It is usually easy to think about something else, to be distracted and to lift one's heart to God. In this kind of combat, the winner is who flees quickly.
The vigilance over the heart consists of distrusting too sensitive and sentimental friendships, which then change into sensual and end up becoming carnal.

[Someone would say... but if they love each other and marry (without having broken the 6th commandment)? It's something. But sensitivity, feelings and sensuality are not good foundations for a marriage, even less: "having fun together", neither slavery: "for the cause".  Someone said "To love is not to look each other to the eyes, but to look together in the same direction" he failed to say that that direction must be to please GOD, who is the only One who has the power to make something beautiful and holy of your life; The Most Blessed Virgin, the Angels and Saints collaborate in this task.]

e) The daily examination of conscience, is a very effective means to avoid or diminish sins, to correct defects and acquire great purity of heart, especially with regard to the holy virtue of chastity. The examination of conscience is like the eye of the soul that guides us on the path of the Christian life.

243.- Positive means.-
a) Prayer: It is an indispensable means, for only with the help of God can human nature sustain itself in the continuous combat that it has to wage against the enemies of chastity.
b) The frequency of Sacraments: Confession is an effective means to live purely and, if someone falls, of fully rehabilitating himself in the eyes of God. The Sacred Eucharist, food and strength of the soul, is like the antidote for the impure vice or what counters the poison. With these two means of Confession and Communion, Saint Philip Neri soon healed a young man who came to him in search for remedy against the impure vice that dominated him.
c) The filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary: "The experience teaches that the purest souls are the most devout of the Virgin of the Virgins" (Blessed Marcellin Champagnat).
d) To remember the great truths, such as our end, the torments of Hell, the sorrows of Purgatory, the passion of Jesus Christ and the presence of God, who looks at us and is to judge us.

244.- Practical advice.- Dear young man: do not forget that chastity is a fragile and delicate virtue, and that it can only be preserved by protecting it with other virtues. It comes to be like a citadel that needs four advanced forts for its defense:
1º Humility - enemy of presumption-, from which are born the distrust of oneself and the flight from dangerous occasions (bad companions, bad readings, "free" and indecent shows).

[True freedom is to choose what does good to the soul, mind, heart, organism, family, society, planet... because the devil is always setting snares under the guise of "liberation." The sons of the serpent want to dominate, for this they kill, thinking that they are Jeremiah... but we are all unique and unrepeatable.

"See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to overthrow, to build and to plant" (Jer. 1:10)

Someone may have missions similar to another... but all unique and unrepeatable. Moreover, Jeremiah never betrayed the Word of God..., least the 5th. commandment. In the time of Elijah "sky was closed" 3 years, but it was by God's will and for people's conversion. It is always for spiritual good, not for the libertine ambitions of the evil ones, who invented an undeclared war (contrary to God's Law for wars, read the Old Testament) against Catholics, who live peacefully, and on top of that they invent laws against God’s Law,  e.g. that in love and war anything is valid and then, infiltrated as Catholic priests, rationalize sin by saying that sex relationships before marriage are a "preparation for love". They are not! Those are venturing into selfishness and hatred, which is betraying God’s Love and Law, source of all good.]

2º Mortification that, fighting against the love of pleasures, attacks evil at its root.
3º The application to the duties of state, diligence in employment or occupation, which prevent the dangers of idleness, mother of all vices.
4º The love to God, which, if it fills the heart, will prevent you from being given to dangerous affections, and will urge you to ask Him for purity and firmness of will.

Placed in the center of that ring, your soul can not only repel the enemy's attacks, but also rise to perfection in purity.

Do add to all this a great devotion to the Immaculate Virgin Mary, [Immaculate means "without macula", without blemish] for Her Name alone inspires purity, and, invoked with heartfelt love and confidence, it is enough to set aside temptation. Do fully consecrate yourself to Her and She will watch over you as a good and property of Her, and will help you to victoriously reject the most distressing and unsettled temptations. Take the habit of praying daily, and even more often, the “Oh Lady and mother of mine”, the “Blessed be your purity” and invocation: Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee!... so effective against this kind of sins.

At all times pray and trust in God, as if the guard of your chastity depends on Him alone; and put on your side all the convenient means, as if success only depends on you.

[I have published the prayers the book names in November 2020, they are part of the "Morning Prayers" of the Little Piety Manual, 1949.
My translations:

CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Oh my Jesus! Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary Most Holy, I offer You the prayers, and works and fatigues of this day to repair for the offenses that are made to You and for the other intentions of Your Sacred Heart.

CONSECRATION TO THE MOST HOLY VIRGIN
O Lady and Mother of mine, I offer myself all to You; and as a proof of my filial affection, I consecrate to you in this day, my eyes, my ears, my tongue, my heart and all my being. For I am all yours, O Mother of kindness, keep me and defend me as a thing and possession of yours. Amen. Pray a Hail Mary. (300 days of indulgence once a day. Pius IX)

And the invocation to Mary Immaculate... it is super powerful and is part of the Miraculous Medal. Examine the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses.

PRAYER TO IMMACULATE MARY
Blessed be your purity,
May it be blessed for ever,
For no less than God takes delight
In such exalted beauty.
To you, heavenly Princess, Holy Virgin Mary,
I offer on this day
My whole heart, life, and soul.
Look upon me with compassion;
Do not leave me, my mother.

DIVINE PRAISES, in atonement for blasphemes:
Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most Holy.
Blessed be Her Holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be Her Glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the Name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, Her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. Amen.
(Indulgence of 3 years, and 5 if recited publicly)]
