EIGHTH COMMANDMENT - Do not bear false witness or lie.

Lesson 24
.
VERACITY, FIDELITY AND OPPOSITE SINS. THE LIE.
[In the printing, the last title has the bigger letters…much more bigger than the Commandment and its description. And The lie is in a line alone, in the center. ]
[This is the last but one lesson on the 10 Commandments. By the time you finish lesson 25 you will have a good idea of what this book says about them. There are good examinations of conscience for adults, married people, etc. in internet (copy the one you like and read it offline). Now I know why 13 net years of beautiful catechesis did not bear the fruits I expected, it happened what many Church people always said: "it is plowing in the wind and sowing in the sea" and that is because EVEN PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL THAT RECEIVE GOOD CATECHESIS DO NOT CONFESS WELL, NEITHER FREQUENTLY. I see nobody wearing the Sacramentals, the seeds that have fallen in their hearts, being in darkness, the devil comes at night and takes them away (read the Parable of the Sower, St. Luke, chapter 8), and the next day they are in the same condition as the previous day, or worse, because they have the sin of indifference towards the things of God, or of rejecting them, and they listen catechesis again because they use it as a sweet entertainment and so, as we say here, “they have been warming the chair” for years, and everything continues crumbling around. With the Rosaries something very good is being done and they are needed EVERY day in every home... something good is happening, but it takes each one to have the Light of Jesus Christ within and radiate Life, Light.
.
People must be spiritually alive and not dead because of mortal sins, sins that they had done and even they do not remember since when. Confession needs 3 conditions according to the dreams that Heaven gave to St. John Bosco: 1) true sorrow of having made Jesus suffer because of our sins; 2) confess all sins, and in case of mortal sins also the number of times those mortal sins were done, and whether Communions were made with those mortal sins in our conscience (without having confessed them). I suppose that if you cannot know the exact number, you may confess the period of time in which you did them without confessing them; 3) to make resolutions of amendment, especially how to avoid the occasions, examine what it is that drags you towards those sins, and KEEP THOSE RESOLUTIONS.
.
Good frequent confession and daily Communion are essential (Communion with total reverence, devotion, adoring Christ, with prayers of preparation, at least the Lord Jesus Christ prayer, and always giving thanks at the end, and never accept Communion in your hand; or given by anyone that is not a priest when you are in a church). I copy below the version I have of a dream of St. John Bosco on the subject of confession. It is now so difficult to go to confession in some parishes and they are denying us Communion in our mouths.
.
I learned that St. Stanislaus Kostka was a great devotee of St. Barbara because she intercedes so that one can receive the Sacraments at the last moment of life. If you ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness in those last moments, the Church says that He forgives you. St. Barbara appeared to St. Stanislaus with two angels when he was sick and he received the Holy Communion and was cured. Melanie, one of the seers of Our Lady of La Salette, also received the Sacraments in a miraculous way when she died in solitude in Altamura, in southern Italy:
<< "She is calm and joyful in her solitude. Every day she goes to the Cathedral.
On December 15 she did not go. She had died during the night of December 14. They forced the door of her house and found her on the floor fully clothed.
In February 1903 she had prophesied that the door of her house would be forced and she would be found dead, in an unknown place in Italy. Two of her neighbors tell that the night before she was found dead, the precious melody of the Tantum Ergo had been heard in the French lady's room and that they also heard a little bell like the one rings when the Holy Viaticum is taken to the dying. The people of Altamura maintain that Holy Communion was brought to Melanie by the Lord Himself." >>
.
I copy this because I do not want you to think that I am preaching you easy ways. Every effort must be made to receive the Sacraments, and to trust in Divine Providence. If we pray and do nothing to be saint and perfect, we are liars (or may be we are misguided by lack of catechesis). It is essential to wear the Sacramentals and not to take them off even for a moment, since we are in the last times where the worst demons and their ogres are let loose: the Scapular (wear it all the same until you find a Carmelite or Franciscan priest who imposes it on you), the Rosary around the neck, the Miraculous Medal, the Medal of St. Benedict Abbot, and the Medal of Our Lady of the Roses, and to wear the crucifix with the image of Jesus. Examine the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of mothers.

A DREAM OF SAINT JOHN BOSCO
.
118. The Mysterious Banquet 1880
.
On August 10, 1889 our Saint said: On August 8th I had the following dream: I dreamed that I was in a very beautifully lit living room with beautiful and gleaming cutlery and tablecloths. And there were our students sitting at beautiful tables: Those of the present and those who will come in the future.
.
118a 1. The Lilies: And I saw that many angels descended from Heaven bringing very beautiful lilies or madonna lilies into their hands and approached several young people and gave each one the lily or madonna lily they brought. Those who received that flower rose up in the air and became so beautiful that perhaps only in paradise can people with such great beauty be seen.
.
I asked what that meant and it was said to me: – These young people are the ones who retain that virtue that has to be recommended so much to youth: the holy purity.
.
118b 2. The roses: Then there came beings that looked like angels and began to spread roses to several of our students.
The rose recipients began to shine with a gorgeous glow.
.
I asked what that meant and a voice said to me: – The ones who receive the rose and shine with special glow are those who have the heart inflamed with God's love.
.
118c 3. The LOOSE CORD: I saw then in a great darkness a few young people who had their face as embers, who were among a muddy area and, in order to get out there, they hung from a rope or lasso. But as soon as they began to climb, the rope loosened and they fell back into the mud, and they were full of mud.
.
I asked what that meant and they told me: – The cord is the confession that can make people rise to holiness and to Heaven. But these young people do their confession wrong. They confess without true repentance and sadness of having offended God and without making serious and firm purposes of starting to be better. That is why the rope gives in and they return again to the mud of their old faults and do not manage to get out of there.
.
118d 4. The Serpent: I then saw some young people who had a terrible serpent screwed to their neck, ready to inject their deadly poison and bite their tongue. The face of these young people was so horrible that it caused fear.
.
I asked what this meant, and a voice said to me: – Those are who never confess, or who do not dare to confess certain sins. Woe to them, if they would confess everything, they would regain peace, but if they continue to silence their sins without confessing them, they will continue with the monster of remorse in their head, and with the soul loaded with sins and the conscience full of bitterness, without determining to cast out the poison they carry in their heart.
.
And the voice added: – It is necessary to tell youths this that you have seen now.
.
After seeing the sad faces of those who live in sin I felt the joy of seeing again the resplendent face of those who preserve the virtue of purity and those who have their heart full of God's love and at that time it was heard great thunder and… I woke up.
.
Several weeks later, Don Bosco said: When I had this dream I thought those were only my imaginations. But then I set out to search for information and found that what I saw of each young person's soul, in the dream, it was pure reality.]
.
282. What the Eighth Commandment commands: God placed this commandment to safeguard the spiritual wealth of our neighbor, which is much more precious than the material one. Therefore, in it He commands us to respect the fame or good esteem of others, and to render to others the honor due to them.
.
To fulfill it, it is necessary to think and speak well of one's neighbor and to be always faithful and truthful.
.
[Faithful to God, let it be clear. And to think and speak well is not precisely to tell them that everything they do is right. We must be faithful to the Truth, and charitably when correcting our neighbor, but we must CORRECT HIM whatever office he holds, because no creature is above Jesus Christ, who is The Truth, or else we would be making an omission. Examine the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses
.
The charitable way of correcting that we read in the writings of St. John Bosco is "to convince them that it is best for them to be good". You may read the Message of Our Lady of the Roses, June 18, 1982
.
Denouncing evil is something that God commands everyone to do, as we must bear witness to the Truth.
.
Read Revelation 19, 10 and S. Matthew 5, 19
.
Mothers are like the “alma mater” of the souls of the family, so do not be surprised that “gender murders” increase exponentially after fosterings by homosexuals or abortion is approved. We must be sentinels in the group where we are, especially speaking sincerely to friends and first "to fulfill, to keep" and then "to teach".
.
You may read Ezekiel 33:1-6. And the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses given on June 18, 1991; August 13, 1977 ; July 15, 1974 and November 23, 1974
.
God created us and we have to produce fruits of sanctity, children souls belong to Him, we didn’t create them, those souls are entrusted to parents to make them produce fruits of sanctity. It is a 24 hours/365 days per year work to teach them to reject lies of the world and to follow The Truth, mankind had to have learned to reject lies/disobedience since Paradise].
.
Man, created in the likeness of God, infinite Truth, must be truthful as his Father and model, for all deliberate insincerity is repugnant to the dignity of his intelligence. It is therefore necessary that the word which expresses his feelings should be sincere and truthful, as Nathanael’s was, whom Jesus congratulated.
.
[Read Saint John I, 47 . God wants us not to have deceitfulness. In Biblegateway.com they say in that verse “ in whom there is no guile”, … the word must be deceitfulness.]
.
What we say about sincerity is to be understood also of fidelity, with respect to what has been promised; hence the obligation to keep the secrets received.
.
283. Truthfulness and truth: These two words have different meanings. To tell the truth and to speak truthfully are two different things. [Now may be I’m re-defining the words in this translation for purposes of clarity:] We are truthful when we say faithfully what we think, even if it is wrong; we tell the truth, or are veracious, when we affirm what is true. We cannot always be veracious, but we must always be truthful. God commands us to tell the pure and plain truth.
.
[E.g. if we saw Laura cleaning the sidewalk and a few minutes later someone asks us about Laura and we say "she is cleaning the sidewalk" we are truthful but, it may be that we are not true since she may already be in her house at that moment].
.
"Put on the new man, created according to God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, putting off falsehood, let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are all members one of another," said St. Paul to the Ephesians (IV, 24-25).
.
Every man has the right not to be deceived and the duty not to deceive. One and the other are indispensable in social life, since education, teaching, family, friendship, commerce, etc., would not be possible without truthfulness and loyalty.
.
[Precisely this is what one-world planners want to destroy with the issue of gender ideology and thus to destroy society and implement communist slavery, already in a university in USA they suspended a student for saying that a man XY will always be a man because his genes say so, the words of the Bible and the writings that the Church has are changed in internet, one world planners declared a war to death to family, and they are destroying trade and welfare so that all become dependent on the State. For example, they have desertified Venezuela with satellites for years so that everyone went to the main cities and subsisted (the ones without dignity, others fled from the country or were killed) on the "welfare" of a dictator, thief, corrupt, and murderer State.
.
This is what someone copied and commented from Soros' Open Democracy page: <<Open Democracy, with its "anti-capitalist" attacks on capitalism, despite living off it, is a newspaper financed by George Soros' capitalist foundations, the main one of which is called Open Society, and other philanthropic organizations such as the Ford Foundation, the Atlantic Philanthropies, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust), there we read: "the private family as a mode of social reproduction sucks". "It generates us, nationalizes us, and competes with us. It standards us for productive work. It makes us believe we are ‘individuals’. It minimizes the costs of capital while maximizing the human labor that life makes..." and it continues….
.
And this is the title of an article on that page entitled: The coronavirus crisis shows it's time to abolish the family (Published on March 24, 2020). Then the article goes around in circles, it is not so direct, but Soros had already said some time ago that the family is the obstacle for the State to dominate the individual. So, Soros is satanic and the first thing he hates is the family of Jesus Christ, the Church].
.
284. Sincerity and loyalty: Sincerity or frankness is a constant disposition of the soul that leads us to conform our words to our inner thoughts and affections.
.
We should appreciate this virtue all the more because we are disciples of the great Master who said: I am the Truth (St. John, VIII, 44); the same One Who later, before the tribunal of Pilate, said: "For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth; everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My voice" (St. John, XVIII, 37).
.
His enemies themselves bore witness to His veracity: "Teacher, we know that you are sincere and that you teach the way of God in truth..." (St. Matt., XXII, 16).
[God, the Holy Trinity is INFALLIBLE TRUTH]
.
Sincerity must always be accompanied by prudence, reserve and discretion.
.
Loyalty or fidelity inclines us to fulfill our commitments with exactitude and to correspond to others.
.
The sincere and loyal man is truthful in what he affirms and faithful to what he promises.
.
285. Necessity of frankness: Frankness is particularly necessary in the daily relations of children with their parents, and of pupils with their teachers and professors. True education can only take place in an atmosphere of frankness and loyalty. If this is lacking, education is only a mirage.
.
286. Sins opposed to the eighth commandment: All internal and external acts contrary to truthfulness are opposed to the eighth commandment.
.
Internal sins are of thought, and may be classified as rash judgments, suspicions, and doubts.
.
External sins are committed by word or with signs, and are: The lie and its sisters: hypocrisy, dissimulation, irony, boasting and adulation; in addition, all defamatory acts and the revelation of secrets.
.
Lying and false testimony are expressly forbidden; and implicitly (or indirectly): defamation and all the other sins mentioned above.
.
287. Lie and its species: Lying is to express with words or signs the opposite of what one feels or thinks, with the intention of deceiving.
.
The lie can be harmful, officious, and jocular.
.
A lie is harmful or pernicious when it unjustly harms others. It is officious when a falsehood is told for one's own or another's benefit, without prejudice to a third party [may be in this meaning: In diplomacy, said of a mediation: Exercised in a friendly way by a third nation in favor of harmony among others]; and it is jocular or festive when it is told as a joke, fun game or mere pastime. The lie said in confession about mortal sins is sacrilegious.
.
The first harmful lie was the one told by the devil - it could not be anyone else - in the form of a serpent, when he deceived Eve in the earthly Paradise. An officious lie was that of Jacob, in order to obtain from his father Isaac the blessing given to the first son.
.
[Jacob had already had the right given to the first son, he won it legally when his brother rejected it for a plate of lentils. About jocular lies, please read: S. Matthew 12:36].
.
The lie can also be material and formal. The material lie occurs when someone lacks the will to lie, even if what is said is false. The formal lie is the lie itself.
.
288. Malice of lying: Lying is intrinsically evil by nature and therefore worthy of being hated with all one's soul, because it offends the supreme veracity of God, hurts the charity that is due to others, and violates an obligation of natural law (n. 283).
.
Every lie is a sin, says St. Thomas Aquinas; it is not always a grave fault. In each case it depends on the matter, intention, warning that the one who lies had received [that is: education in Religion or not, etc., but remember that the 10 Commandments have been put in the conscience of every human being, and they are obliged to keep them], and the harm he may cause.
.
Regarding the matter, as it is opposed to the truth, it is always slight, but when it is opposed to justice, or enters into matters of religion, it can be grave, especially the harmful lie, and even the jocular one. The seriousness of the harmful one is determined by the damage it causes. The officious one can be serious if it causes serious scandal, or annuls the action of justice in serious crimes [we must think for ourselves, we already know that every scandal is serious, mortal; and to annul the action of justice is a scandal because laws educate people]. Regarding jocular lies, it may happen that there is no sin when it is only done with the intention to entertain, without will to deceive, because the listeners understand the game and the joke.
.
The lie is the child of the devil, says an author according to Jesus Christ, Who said to the Jews [those Jews who wanted to kill Him because His Word did not take root in them. The following is a translation from my Bible, printed no later that 1964]: "You have the devil as your father, and you want to fulfill the desires of your father. He is a murderer from the beginning and did not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, because he is a liar and father of the lie". (St. John VIII, 44).
.
[“As your father” means that you adopted that individual like a father, so that you chose him, approve, accept and follow him]
.
Sacred Scripture is full of sentences condemning lying. "Six things the Lord hates... a lying tongue... a false witness who spreads slander and kindles grudges [or “malice”] among brothers" (Proverbs, VI, 16-19). "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord; but those who proceed sincerely are pleasing to Him" (Proverbs, XII, 22). "A lying tongue shall not remain unpunished, a deceitful mouth kills the soul" (Wisdom, I, 11).
.
289. Other forms of lying: vices similar to lying are: hypocrisy, dissimulation, irony, boasting and adulation.
.
Hypocrisy is the pretence and simulation of feelings contrary to those one has. It is a personal fiction. Jesus Christ harshly reproached the Pharisees who cleaned the cup and the plate on the outside, but inside they were full of greed and covetousness... (Matt., XXIII, 13-33). If hypocrisy consists in hiding one's own wickedness, then it is not a sin.
[What infiltrated snake wrote that last sentence? The only way in which that is acceptable would be when someone is really trying to fight a sin and tries to do, feel, look like the opposite of the sin he feels inside. E.g. if someone is fighting anger and upon feeling it, he pauses for a few moments in peace and makes a smile until the anger fades away.]
.
Dissimulation is a contrived way of covering up one's intention or concealing the truth and then it is lawful. [One is not obliged to tell ALL that one knows, and e.g. the Archangel Raphael tells Tobit and Tobias that they had seen him eat but it was an appearance. But one cannot hide the truth if it leads to injustice]. What is evil it is simulation, by which, by outward signs, one affirms what one does not think.
.
Infamatory irony is directed directly at someone one wishes to offend. In oratory it is used by orators to condemn vice and sin, and it is licit in that case. [An example of a licit case: read Amos 4:4]
.
Boasting is presumptuous self-praise. It is called vainglory when one confirms or underlines what others say.
.
[Vainglory is terrible, it is like a bad poisonous leaven that inflates us up badly, it does not lift us up as good leaven does. A modern example of vainglory is the so called "affirmation", e.g. when the teachers dress a boy like a girl and together with his classmates they all celebrate it... poor child, the poison of flattery/adulation destroyed, for example, half of Walter Hayes' life, his grandmother secretly dressed him like a girl and adulated him, the child believed that it was the way to follow. Although he got married, graduated as an engineer... the poison surfaced and he got divorced, became trans, mutilated himself, and after recovering from alcoholism, where the inner poison he had received also took him, doing good deeds helping alcoholics to recover, he found a good doctor who helped him overcome the disaster that began with his grandmother's adulation and that was deepened by the psychologists who gave him "affirmation". Now he is dedicated, among other things, to fight against gender ideology in schools].
.
Adulation is a defect that consists in exaggerating the perfections of someone, or praising those that do not exist; it is a pure lie. However, it can be virtuous when it is aimed at consoling those who suffer so that they do not faint; sometimes it has done real wonders. [I do not believe those “wonders”; only if the consoling words are true, they can be believed and kept, so they work. We can always console us in the Mercy of God that gives us time to convert ourselves. If the consoling words are lies, that false lever may work for a while, but falls soon.]
.
Mental restriction: It consists in diverting the natural sense of a word or phrase to another sense that we give it in the mind. Thus, Jesus Christ to announce to the Apostles that Lazarus had died, begins by saying to them: "Lazarus, our friend, is asleep and I am going to wake him up" (S. John, XI, 11). Mental restraint, used to hide the truth or part of it without telling a lie, is licit when there is sufficient cause for it. It can be a necessary means to keep secrets.
.
Mental restriction may be purely mental and broadly mental.
.
In the purely mental restriction, or misunderstanding it is not possible to discover the sense of the words of the speaker. For example: One is asked: -"Have you seen the Pillar?" and he answers yes, thinking inwardly: in photography. A father asks his son: -"Have you been to Mass? Yes (the previous Sunday). It is a lie.
.
[When a nun who everyone had as unbearable asked St. Therese (the little flower) why she smiled so kindly when she met her, St. Therese answered: -Because I am very happy to see you (and added interiorly: “spiritually”). That is not a lie because she was happy in that way].
.
In the broad mental restriction there is the possibility of inferring, by means of the circumstances that concur, the meaning of the words of he that speaks. Jesus Christ used it when, after manifesting to the Apostles the signs of the end of the world, they asked him about the time when this would happen: to which Jesus answered: "As for that day or that hour, no one knows it, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Marc., XIII, 32). He knew it well, but, as a messenger of the Father, he had not received the commission to communicate it to mortals.
.
[I do not know on what basis they affirm that last sentence. Jesus is obedient to the Father and said that the Father is greater than He is. Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity, the same God as the Father. They are not the same Divine Person and Jesus Christ may, out of exquisite respect and adoration to His Father, not know exactly the day and hour, but obviously He may know, for example, all the circumstances and everything up to that day. In my opinion He could easily find that out, but He does not do it because of respect to His Father. As St. John came to the tomb first after the Resurrection and did not enter, he let Saint Peter enter first. The Holy Trinity is a mystery and I firmly believe that it is better to simply believe what we know, which is enough and more than enough, than to try to find out, as some people do, how the Only begotten Son demonstrates His obedience and respect to the Father, it would be better for some (it is better for all of us) to start by respecting and obeying well the 10 Commandments and the Words of Jesus Christ. Some may say: "we already know them..." but we must meditate and meditate how to keep/obey them so that more and more Light may enters in our souls].
.
It is never licit to use equivocation or mental restrictions in confession or in matters of faith or religion; neither in contracts or in judicial interrogations, or when there is danger that a false interpretation of words may cause unjust harm to our neighbor.
.
291. Suspicions, doubts, and rash judgments: Judgment, suspicion, and doubt are three gradations from more to less, of that evil inclination that directs man to think evil of his neighbor.
.
Judgment affirms, suspicion opines, and doubt remains stationary in equilibrium. All three are, therefore, internal sins.
[Notice that the title says “rash” judgement, I think we can say to the evil doer: you are doing this evil, or: why do you do this evil? We are morally obliged to warn him and to pray for his convertion, but only legal authorities can judge, and the Church must excommunicate all scandalous and heretics. It is necessary that you examine the Messages of Our Lady of the Roses. We cannot judge, we can never say to anyone: "condemned", "you are hopeless", since only God judges and that person well may repent, that is why we must pray and make sacrifices for the convertion of evil ones. We can suspect internally about someone, without airing things without proofs, we can look for those proofs and to know by reasoning, etc., if we should avoid that person or not. It is good and necessary that we avoid bad companies, those who live in mortal sin, and those that are only apparently Catholics. And the doubt, do solve it by asking for Light to the Holy Spirit, NEVER ASK HIM to come, just His assistance. If you want the Holy Spirit on you, you must ask for Him to the Father, as Jesus Christ teaches us.]
.
Rash judgment is the inner affirmation of the evil of our neighbor without a justified reason, and based only on slight indications. It is often made lightly, rashly, without reflection, and without malice; it is then only a venial sin. For it to be mortal, it is necessary that the judgment be truly reckless, made out of hatred or envy, in a grave issue, and with the exclusion of all doubt or suspicion.
.
Reckless suspicion is a propensity to think evil of one's neighbor without sufficient reason. In doubt, judgment is suspended, without being determined either for or against the neighbor.
.
[We may follow the counsel of Saint Therese of Avila, who said that when we see defects of others it is a great thing to cover them thinking on our defects, she said that that always brought her great results; but beware of those people that, to hide THEIR obvious sins THEY order you to meditate in your sins, as a way not to be questioned. It is the same when others rob us something saying: “let’s he give to the one that needs…” THEY LIE.]
.
These sins are very easily committed and denote little charity towards one's neighbor. Ordinarily they are the persons of doubtful probity who are more inclined to make these bad judgments. To them, we can apply the well-known proverb: "The thief believes that all are of his own kind".
.
When Judith went out at night so adorned and perfumed to meet Holofermes, who would not have formed a rash judgment of her? And yet how upright was her intention! -And what did Simon the Pharisee [Simon the leper] think of the Magdalene, when she, repentant, watered the feet of Jesus with her tears and poured perfume on them? -According to some Jews, on the day of Pentecost the apostles were drunk with wine because, filled with the Holy Spirit, they announced the Resurrection of Jesus and His Divinity.
.
Let us never misjudge our neighbor, because appearances usually deceive, and the truth is other than what those appearances preach.
.
We should always be tending to judge well of others; but this does not prevent us from taking precautions advised by prudence, such as: watchfulness, keeping money, locking doors so as not to be victims of some evil attempt.
.
[Very nice, but the most precious thing we have is the soul and especially that of the children, and for that reason we must cut off the occasions (e.g. bad friendships, bad doctrines, everything that goes against the Holy Religion) and throw them away. More precious than our soul is the Presence of Jesus Christ in the Tabernacles and the Sacraments. The doors of almost all the churches have been closed for most of the day, for fear of some "evil attack" and it is because neither they have fought evil nor excommunicated heretics and scandals as Our Lady of the Roses asks (as Church has always made till these modernistic times), nor have they had zeal to evangelize in their own parish, and so on. Therefore, they are now almost empty and are closed most of the time, but satanists are deep inside. Do remember what Our Lady of the Roses said about a church in darkness.]
.
292. Secrecy and its kinds: Secrecy is the knowledge that one has of a thing that must remain hidden from his neighbor. It can be natural, if by its nature the thing has to remain hidden from the neighbor, for example, a dishonorable fault [Are we going to hide such a fault, having proof, and that the individual walks around like a wolf in sheep's clothing because of our silence? I know from experience that snakes put themselves like counselors of souls with problems, in the communities, to destroy the poor souls on purpose, and the gypsy bugs always dressed with a lamb vest... they pretend they are very pious but they are extremely satanic and sacrilegious]; A secret is promised if, after being known, a formal word was given to keep it; entrusted, if it was communicated on condition of silence; professional, if it is entrusted to a lawyer, a judge, a doctor, etc., by reason of his profession; and sacramental, if it is a secret of Confession.
.
[With the secret of Confession they would say it is the same as the natural secret, no. If the person is a thief, etc., in order to be forgiven he is required to make reparation for his fault to the society, he must confess the crime to the authorities, otherwise, he cannot be forgiven. Everyone fills their mouths with "the good thief" but he recognized that he was on the cross paying for his sins. And if an individual goes to confession and decides not to do the penance, he will not be forgiven. The only reason by which that person, that would not surrender himself to the civil authorities, goes to confess it is to mock faith, he is a liar and may not even be confessing a real sin, but he may be trying to set a trap to destroy the secret of confession, or having done a real crime, he goes to the confessional only to set a trap to the priest, then he is ordered by his masters to let himself be caught and say that he was not caught in time because the priest did not reveal the secret. The priest is not a detective, it is not his work, that is what the police are for (which the promoters of feminism and pederasty like Soros want to destroy). Priests, in good faith, are there to help heal the souls of those who Confess and Jesus decides if He forgives or not.].
.
To these kinds of secrets must be added the epistolary or correspondence secret, included in the natural secret, and considered, moreover, as an entrusted secret.
,
293. Obligation and revelation of secrets: The secret is, for him who possesses it, a sacred deposit which he cannot reveal without a proportionate cause or suitable cause for that purpose. And the greater the obligation, the more serious must be the cause that may permit its revelation. Whoever, without legitimate reason, violates a secret, commits a sin against justice, fidelity or charity, and its gravity varies in proportion to the harm that would be done to his neighbor.

[Here, by using the words "sacred deposit", it seems that he is talking about the secret of confession. If it is any secret, it is not sacred and, if it is sacred, it cannot be revealed. Beware of infiltrated vipers, that is why St. Teresa of Avila, Doctor of the Church, recommends us to look for a good confessor, she especially recommends that he be "cultured" (of course, in Catholic Dogma). The secret of confession is inviolable, as explained latter. The priest works representing Christ in the Sacrament, Christ uses him to give the absolution. If a priest betrays that, what someone repentantly tells Christ through the priest, he makes one of the greatest betrayals a priest can make. Socialists in the USA want priests to reveal the secrets of confession to them, socialism is satanism. Confessionals must be returned to the churches, with the grid so that we can speak as close as possible to the ear of the priest and that others around do not hear us, and so that the priest does not see the face of the faithful who confesses. It is a disgrace that the devil, infiltrated among the mitres in the CVII, has caused confessions to be heard in the pews of the churches, or on chairs placed in the aisle, with other "people" half a meter away, listening with the same or greater clarity than the priest. Another barbarity are “confessions in group”, where a meditation is made, they repent and "confess" individually with God and then the priest gives a general absolution. That is not the spirit of humility, neither does the priest give the faithful, in those pseudo-confessions, the personal advice necessary to avoid falling again].
The sacramental secret is always inviolable and there is nothing that can permit its revelation. The natural and the entrusted secrets oblige by themselves and in justice, according to the importance of the matter. The professional secret is very serious and always obliges in justice. The promised secret obliges by fidelity to the given word and according to the intention that was had when giving that word.
The epistolary secret participates in the reservations and responsibilities of the natural and the entrusted ones; no one can read the letters addressed to another without the consent of the interested party, except in special cases, such as official censorship, in schools, religious communities, etc.
[I do not agree with any of those exceptions. Regarding St. Therese of Lisieux (the little flower), Doctor of Catholic Church, who is called "the Saint of the last times", the superior wanted to read her correspondence, the Saint Doctor did not accept it. She preferred not to write and if I remember well, she managed to have her epistolary secret respected. The same thing is happening to us with Communion in our hands, we can never accept it. Please, prayers and sacrifices so that the faithful may be allowed what in many countries is being denied with the Covid: to receive Communion in the mouth, which is an obligation and a right, and prayers for the right of priests to give it only in the mouth. We are close to Easter and they are putting illegal laws so that we cannot fulfill the Easter precept. The laws that the infiltrators made are illegal, but neither their laws allow the prohibition of communion in the mouth, they say (illegally) that they can authorize Communion in the hand in case of epidemic, when the episcopal conference dictates it, but they NEVER PROHIBITED COMMUNION IN THE MOUTH. The Vatican closed a seminary in San Rafael, province of Mendoza, were seminarians behaved according to the Holy Tradition, because the 40 seminarians did not accept to receive Communion in the hand. UPDATE SOME MONTHS LATER: after they were send to their homes ( I think they kept on winning merits for Heaven); some months later, their right to receive Communion in the mouth was recognized and they returned to the Seminary. I’m convinced that the merits of Saint Therese made a lot in that issue].

The obligation to keep a secret ceases when it has already been divulged by another means and also when keeping it quiet would result in a serious harm to the common good or a serious and unjust injury to an innocent person, etc. Thus, a doctor, for example, must declare a case of typhus to the hygiene service. If the promised secret concerns a criminal act, it is obvious that it cannot be kept.

Parents may require their minor children to reveal certain promised secrets. Equal right has a legitimate superior over his subordinates.
