4. John dreams of the exam he is about to take. 1832

In addition to his good memory, John had in his favor certain aids from Heaven. And so it happened that one night he dreamed everything that the next day he was going to be asked in the exam. He got up and wrote down everything he had dreamed, and he went over it and learned it very well.

The time came for the exam and Juan handed it in before the others and it was perfectly answered. The teacher was amazed and asked him for the draft, and with emotion he saw that Bosco had written in draft the whole exam that the teacher had thought to dictate, but at the last minute he cut it, dictating only half of it.

The professor was very surprised and asked him: "And how do you explain this? The young man answered simply: "I dreamt it". (No wonder his companions called him "The Dreamer").

For 60 years Don Bosco dreamed, and what he dreamed came true admirably. Why? There is only one explanation: his dreams were illuminations from Heaven. The life of St. John Bosco is a tapestry of such marvelous facts that we cannot but repeat the phrase that the Holy Bible says when commenting on the miraculous facts that God works in favor of Moses: "The hand of God is here".

As St. John Bosco did not seek in what he did and what he said but only the glory of God and the salvation of souls, that is why God intervened so marvelously in his favor.

4. Juan sueña el examen que van a hacer 1832

Además de la buena memoria, tenía Juan en su favor ciertas ayudas del Cielo. Y así sucedió que una noche soñó todo lo que al día siguiente le iban a preguntar en el examen. Se levantó y escribió todo lo que había soñado, y lo repasó y se lo aprendió muy bien.

Llegó la hora del examen y Juan lo entregó antes que los demás y estaba perfectamente respondido. El profesor se admiró y le pidió el borrador, y con emoción vio que en borrador había escrito Bosco todo el examen que el profesor había pensado dictar, pero que a última hora recortó, no dictando sino la mitad.

El profesor muy extrañado le preguntó: “¿Y cómo se explica esto?”. El joven le respondió sencillamente: “Es que lo he soñado”. (Con razón sus compañeros lo llamaba “El Soñador”). Durante 60 años sueña Don Bosco, y lo que sueña se cumple admirablemente. ¿Por qué? No tenemos sino una explicación: sus sueños eran iluminaciones llegadas del Cielo. La vida de San Juan Bosco es un tejido de hechos tan maravillosos que no podemos menos que repetir la frase que la Santa Biblia dice al comentar los hechos milagrosos que Dios obra a favor de Moisés: “La mano de Dios está aquí”.

Como San Juan Bosco no buscaba en lo que hacía y en lo que decía sino solamente la gloria de Dios y la salvación de las almas, por eso Dios intervenía tan maravillosamente en su favor.
