82. Through the dormitories in the company of the Blessed Virgin 1871

I visited the dormitories in the company of the Blessed Virgin, and She pointed out to me a young man who had to die very soon, and recommended me to prepare him very well so that he might die a holy death.
On the foreheads of several of the pupils I saw written their principal sins. On the head of one who was sleeping I saw a very sharp sword hanging from a very thin thread that was soon to break and would be dropped on his head. Next to the bed of some students I saw a demon waiting for God to give permission for death to come to him, to take his soul, in sin.

83. The Demon in the Courtyard, 1872

Dream I had in January 1872.
During the illness I suffered at the school in Varazze in January, one night, as soon as I fell asleep, I began to dream that I was in the courtyard and that there I met an individual who had a notebook in his hands. In that notebook were written all the names of the students and he looked at each one and wrote something in front of his name.
I set out to find out what he was writing there and tried to get closer, but he kept moving away from me and I had to use a lot of speed to stay close. I finally managed to see what he was writing there.
I saw that on a page in front of the name of a student he painted a pig and wrote: "Like animals, he is only interested in the body; he has become similar to them".
In front of the name of another student he painted a sharp tongue like a knife and wrote that phrase from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans: "Murmurers, gossipers, inventors of things that are not known to them, slanderers; whom God declares worthy of death, and not only them, but also those who approve of the evil that they do" (Rom. 1:30).
In front of others he painted two donkey's ears and wrote those words of Holy Scripture: "Evil conversation corrupts good morals".

I looked carefully at that guy and I saw that he had two very long ears and that his eyes looked like blood and fire and that his face was as if it were made of fire.
Then the bell rang to go to the Church and all the students went there and also that guy who followed them staring at them. Holy Mass began and the young people followed it with great devotion and when the time of the elevation came, the young people looked with great devotion at the consecrated Host and Chalice and prayed the blessed and praised be the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.
At that moment there was a great roar and the individual disappeared amid flames and smoke, leaving made ashes the papers of the notebook in which he had written down what he was going to make each one of them commit.
I thanked Our Lord because He had deigned to defeat and drive away that demon, and I realized that attending Holy Mass makes many plans that the devil has against us fail, and that the moment of elevation is a terrible moment for the enemy of our souls.
Let us think that the enemy of the soul has well written down everything he wants to make us say and do in order to lose us. Some will wish to know what I saw written in front of his name. You can come in these days to ask me and I will try to remind each one of yours.
